Abruzzo is an Italian region with great gastronomic traditions that have evolved over the centuries. In fact, this region, situated between the sea and the mountains, has several traditional recipes and typical products, including above all cheeses, wines, cured meats and olive oil, and last but not least the truffle and the famous saffron from L’Aquila.
The typical food and wine of Abruzzo is attracting plenty of tourists during all seasons. The beauty of the mountains, lakes and sea are some of the factors that – together with the rich gastronomic tradition – are to increase the presence in the territory.
Today the cuisine of Abruzzo is considered one of the very best in Italy. In fact the gastronomic trend is going towards genuine and traditional dishes. Therefore, sales of local products, such as saffron, cheeses, and wines, or extra virgin olive oil are increasing by the day.
The typical Abruzzese dishes, which are often poor preparations, simple and rich in taste, are increasingly appreciated throughout Italy.
